A recent survey suggests that if pharmaceutical companies want to offer greater value to UK doctors they should be developing mobile apps in order to maximise the benefit of their drugs. This approach would also offer greater value to HCPs in what is becoming known as ‘after the pill’ add-on services.
Though the survey suggests Compliance apps would be the main game changers, Doctors also see other apps as very beneficial. Well over a third (40%) of UK Doctors think a diary app that records patients’ symptoms over a certain period of time prior to consultation would be helpful. Recording patient symptoms ‘in the moment’ in this way would be extremely beneficial in understanding the patients case at a more granular level.
