Poor quality reproductive health apps

Reproductive health care providers need recommendations on applications (apps) for patient use, particularly apps for menstrual cycle and fertility tracking, because these apps are frequently downloaded by women and can be used by clinicians when evaluating menstrual problems.

However, a recent study found that many of the available apps had not been assessed for quality and functionality by reproductive health experts and the study recommended that all such apps should be validated before being used by patients and clinicians. More information on validating health care apps can be found here.
