AZ and NCI to develop a mobile app to manage side effects

It has been reported that AstraZeneca and the NCI will test whether a mobile app can improve treatment for women who are taking AstraZeneca’s Lynparza and cediranib cancer drug combo. The smartphone app links to a web portal that allows doctors and patients to manage side effects such as hypertension and diarrhea, potentially offering an advantage over more time-consuming tracking methods. This digital support service will be piloted in three separate clinical trials starting in 2016. For more information on using a mobile app for side effect reporting click here.
