Steve is a founding Director of Virtual PV Limited, with nearly thirty years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
He headed global pharmacovigilance at Hoffmann La-Roche, clinical data management at Wellcome Research, has led various medical information and IT departments, and has experience in all aspects of people and project management, strategic development and the day-to-day activities in all of these units.
He has also worked as the QP PV and Deputy QP PV for a number of pharmaceutical organisations and has a good knowledge of the changing regulatory landscape. He has also planned and delivered a wide variety of IT and change projects within development and, because of his experience, carried out a number of compliance (GCP, ICH, GDP/GMP, 21CFR part 11 and SOx) inspections.
He was a founder of the clinical data management M.Sc. course run by Kingston University and for ten years was a part-time lecturer there leading the IT modules.
He has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and Anatomy and a PhD in modelling cystic fibrosis, both awarded by the University of Sheffield. He also carried out post-doctoral research into breast cancer and has a Master’s degree in Information Science.
